There were pottery shards in this area that were still lying on the ground.  They resembles some of the beautiful pieces found in Chaco Canyon.

Bear Lake Northern CA 2013

OnWay to Bear Lake

I have been trying to find a way to Bear Lake, a small lake in Northern California in the area we call the high lakes for years.  It is the only large lake I have not been too yet.  I have tried on at least 6 different occasions to get there.

Finally Denise and I took the quads as far as the trail seemed safe enough to take and packed in the rest of the way.  Probably 1 ½ miles each way.  The road was pretty knarly to get to this point and was worse as you will see.
